It provides internships and scholarships to college students, career literature, fellowships for high school journalism teachers and publications' advisers and training for college journalism instructors. The Fund is a nonprofit foundation supported by the Dow Jones Foundation, Dow Jones & Company, Inc. and other newspaper companies. The Newspaper Fund welcomes unsolicited proposals for grants as long as they directly relate to the foundation's mission of encouraging people to pursue careers in journalism and the major program areas outlined in this report.
